How better to kick off our celebration of Jumelage than with ALDEBERT and DAVEBERT whose resemblance in our opinion is phenomenal? Born in Paris in 1973, the young Guillaume Aldebert leaves the capital with his parents for Besançon, where he lives today. He shows a precocious interest in music. His bisontine schooling is reflected in his detachment for the material in life, culminating in music nostalgic and serious, music where he delves into existential questions, questions of life, of old age, of death. Dave "DAVEBERT" Matthews was born in South Africa in 1967 and became a naturalized American at a young age. The family lived in New York where he shows a precocious interest in music and where his father encourages him to take piano lessons as a child until he begins playing guitar at age nine. Fast forward to Charlottesville where DAVEBERT is now legend, his music also reflecting angst and irony, and questions of life and death. We hereby propose that Monsieur Coran " Trump" Capshaw's MusicToday bring ALDEBERT to Charlottesville from Sistah City Besançon to perform at the Charlottesville Pavilion on the Historic Downtown Mall.
